Prometheus Bound
After consulting the Google oracle on a search for Prometheus Videos, I found this one particular animation that I thought was so beautifully made I had to share it on our site. After further inspection I learned that it was one of the most talented working animators in the industry. His name is Peter Dodd and he’s worked on animations such as the Gorillaz music video for Melancholly Hill, the Beatles Rock Band as well as the award winning french animated film The Illusionist. As impressed I was with all his portfolio work I noticed the caption under this Prometheus video read:
“This is a 13 minute 2D hand drawn animated film made in-between commercial jobs. Based on the play of the same name by Aeschylus , it retells the myth of Prometheus, who stole fire from the gods to benefit mankind, and as a result was crucified atop a mountain.”
Could it be that this ultra talented animator made put his blood, sweat and tears into this animation for no other reason but he’s heart felt passion for the myth of Prometheus? Either way we tip our hat too a Peter Dood for being a fellow Promethean and sharing this powerful story with humanity.
