Prometheus For Life
There’s an old Iban proverb that says “a man without tattoos is invisible to the gods” and if that’s that case then one particular New York City Whole Foods team member and fellow capsaicin addict that won’t be having that problem.
Last weekend at Inborn Tattoo in the Lower East Side, there was the first of what we hope will be many who will bare the mark of the Ouroboros. The symbol of a serpent eating it’s tail has often been associated with the alchemical great work and represents self-reflexivity and the cyclicality of life.
An archetypal image of connecting the passive and active elements of life are represented by the upward and downward arrows which are also alchemy symbols for Fire and Water. These symbols are allegorical to any opposed elements like the conscious and unconscious mind, or like in the in case of Prometheus Springs the joining of water with fire. We encourage you to find your own meaning and to share it with us and the rest of the world.
